soiled, part eighteen

This is a continuation.  You might wish to follow this link to the beginning:  soiled, part 1

From somewhere, Chloe managed to find the courage to speak.  “You don’t want to rape me, Daños.”

“Mm, Chloe.”  He shook his head at her.  “You’ve no idea how wrong you are.  Rape is not just a physical act … not for me.  I can have you physically any way i want.  We both know that.”  His eyes, dark with need, glittered at her.

“You’re strong,” she whispered.  “You can stop it.  I trust you.”  She blinked once when his fingers tightened on her nipple and twisted.   She caught her breath, stopped herself from crying out.

“Trust.”  He smiled darkly, drew out the word in a hiss.  “Open your legs, Chloe.  Show me this trust.”

“No,” whispered Michael, and the air stirred with the depth of his despair.

“You can do nothing for her, my friend.”  Raphael’s voice was grave.  Michael didn’t look around, didn’t acknowledge the offered empathy.

“We could have saved her.”

“You know it is not for us to interfere.  We lose Guardians every year.”

Michael shook his head.  “She was different.  Special.”

Raphael placed a hand on Michael’s shoulder.  “So was Lucifer,” he reminded him gently.  “Being special isn’t always a good thing.”  His voice lowered, but became more firm.  “Let her go.”

The air stirred, brushing by Daños to softly caress Chloe’s face.  “No,” she breathed.  Daños heard the whispered word, wondered if she spoke to him, or to the wind.

And, then, just like that, she was gone.

  1. I didn’t see that one coming…

  2. Mmm, but in what sense is she gone? Did Michael swoop her off against her will? Or is she gone in the way a person can absent themselves from a certain situation? Or is she gone because she’s fully human now and has to start out as a squalling infant and Daños is going to meet her in, say, seventeen years or so?

  3. sassy,

    Neither did i.

    Beth,

    She’s just gone.
